Model errors in selected classes of tissues

This is an ongoing project that studies the model error of diffusion equation. The diffusion equation holds under the condition that the reduced scattering coefficient must be much larger than the absorption coefficient. Nonetheless some of the human tissues, such as CSF, lung and liver, may not satisfy this condition, which results in the model error of diffusion equation. To better understand the error, we are using Monte Carlo light transport model to acquire groundtruth and quantitatively compare it to the results given by diffusion equation.
